Argentina assumes the presidency of the G20

Since December 1st, 2017 Argentina has become the first South American country to assume the presidency of the G20, the world’s preeminent forum for economic, financial, and political cooperation. President Mauricio Macri has remarked that Argentina will lead the agenda seeking to build a multilateral consensus in which all countries commit to fair and sustainable economic development that generates opportunities for everyone. The Argentine presidency of the G20 will convene over 20,000 representatives and world leaders from member countries of the G20, who will participate in over 50 meetings throughout the year in several cities across the country. Argentina is proud to have this opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to international cooperation, multilateralism and global governance.
