On Monday, July 11th 2016, the Argentine Embassy to the Republic of Korea offered a Reception on the occasion of the Bicentennial celebrations of our Independence.

The Reception took place at the Millenium Hilton Hotel in Seoul, were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other ministries and governmental agencies, the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, Businessmen, members of the argentine community as well as journalists and socialites gathered for this friendly and joyous occasion.

After the national Anthems of Argentina and Korea, Ambassador Jorge Roballo offered a short speech with a brief explanation of the historical process of our Republic, referred to the democratic developments and the continuity of elected governments since 1983 and analyzed the high levels of exchanges and commitments between Argentina and Korea as well as the projects for the near future.

As representative of the Korean government, Deputy Minister for Foreign Policy, Ambassador Hyong-zhin KIM, offered a fraternal message of congratulations for our 200 years of Independence, highlighting the high level of understanding, friendship and cooperation that exist between our two countries and peoples.

During the reception, the attendants had the chance to taste a variety of argentine wines, mainly Malbec, generously provided by Korean importer companies as well as some typical argentine dishes, such as “Empanadas”, “Lentil Stew” and others, presented kindly by Chef Bernhard Butz and his crew.
