H.E. the Vice-president of the Argentine Republic, Mrs. Gabriela Michetti, visited Korea last May. She began her official visit on Monday, May 9th. with a visit to the President of the National Assembly, Dr. Ui-hwa CHONG. Later on, she moved to the city of Daegu to receive an honorary doctorate from Catholic University.

At the same time, on Monday May 9th, the Embassy of the Argentine Republic to Corea organized a Seminar on "Investment Opportunities in Argentina" that was conducted by the Vice-Ministers of Economy, Trade, Industry and Mining, together with the Director of the Argentine Agency for Investment Promotion. The seminar was attended by over seventy Korean businessmen. After the event, several meetings were held between representatives of Korean companies interested in doing business in Argentina and members of the argentine delegation.

On Tuesday May 10th, H.E Vice-President Michetti had a meeting with and assisted to a working lunch offered by H.E. the Prime Minister of Korea, Mr. Kyo-ahn HWANG, where both dignitaries reviewed in detail the most important aspects of the bilateral agenda, referred to the potential of our cooperation and exchanged ideas for a new level on our bilateral relations.  In the afternoon, H.E. Vice-president Michetti payed a courtesy call to the H.E. President of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Geum-hye Park, occasion in which the high level of understanding between our two countries was reaffirmed.

H.E. Vice-president Michetti also had the time to meet with senior executives and the CEO of POSCO and with high level representatives of SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS and HYUNDAE ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION as well as interviews with journalist representing major local media and international news agencies.
